Let’s Stoke the Fire
“We are thrilled to celebrate their art and creative expression.”
Liberty Arts presents the ninth annual Iron Pour, a public artmaking experience, on Saturday, November 15th, in Durham Central Park.
REIGNITE IRON HEROES
IRON HEROES is a casting program designed to engage veterans and youth from traditionally underserved communities. The program provides access to creative outlets and expression through hands-on metal casting.
Inspired by a book by Joseph Campbell, Liberty Art’s artist Tripp Jarvis created the program around the theme of The Hero's Journey, in 2022. The goal of the program is to encourage students who are new to sculpture to explore the creative territory of their imaginations and to call forth the hero that lies hidden in their daily lives and our intention is to bring it back in 2025.
Please consider contributing and spreading the message so we can reach our goal and make a meaningful difference.
Pour Squares
Pour Square workshops are fun and a great way to connect with community.

Breaking Iron
Are you interested in supporting Liberty Arts, connecting with the community and releasing frustration in a fun way? If so, we are looking for volunteers! There are many ways that your support can contribute to this year’s 9th Annual Iron Pour experience.
One exciting way is to join us every Tuesday to break down iron. You can also ask about donate iron - we use a lot!
If you are interested, or have questions please visit us at ironpour@libertyartsnc.org
Early Sign-Up
Though Iron Pour is free and open to the public, we encourage you to get your ticket(s) in advance. Early sign-up is easy via The Liberty Arts EventBrite Page.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Iron Pour makes a meaningful impact for Durham and the arts community, and we could not make it happen without the generous support from our incredible community! This year we are looking for volunteers that want to support in various capacities including: live painting activity artist support, donation docents, documenters (photos and short form videos), exhibition tent support.

A Thousand Thanks…
About Iron Pour
Liberty Arts proudly presents the ninth annual Iron Pour, a spectacular display of sculptural art making and a free community experience happening Saturday, November 15th from 4:00pm to 9:00pm in Durham Central Park.
Every November since 2016, Mike Waller and Tripp Jarvis have led and participated in this fiery, free, fun community event which takes place at Durham Central Park. More than 5,000 attendees are expected to watch teams of artists operate two furnaces that heat thousands of pounds of iron to unfathomable temperatures. Throughout the evening teams of artists and students from around North Carolina will gather to pour their own sculptural pieces along with iron tiles designed by community members during the Pour Square workshops.
Accessibility Note
The site is wheelchair-accessible via Foster Street, with paved road/walkway surrounding the pour site. Some seating is available on park benches, with limited visibility to the pour site from these benches. For better visibility to the Pour, attendees can stand or sit on the grass or on paved areas closer to the pour site. There is more info about accessibility- here.
Stay in the loop with the Iron Pour Papers a limited monthly newsletter that focuses on all things relating to this fiery annual event.
