Equipment & Facilities Rental
For rental of metals equipment and glass facilities at the Pearl Street location.

If you are a first time renter, use the link below to apply:
New renters are asked to complete a brief orientation with a department head or shop tech before their first rental. The orientation will familiarize you with our space and all the tools. Following orientation, first time renters are required to:
Read and understand the safety procedures and rules.
Read and sign the Liberty Arts Liability waiver.
Submit their first rental booking request at least 72 hours in advance.

Rental includes access to: glory hole, annealers, torches, garage, and coldworking tools. Pipes, punties, and shop hand tools are available but we suggest renters have and use your their own tools when possible. All tools must be returned to their proper places.
Furnace glass is provided, but there will be an extra charge for using large amounts of glass. Frit and other color (powder, rod, etc) is NOT provided.

Rental includes access to: MIG welder, welding table, clamps, hammers, magnets, wire cutters, angle grinders, and access to a drill press, chop saw and plasma cutter. All tools must be returned to their proper places.
Liberty Arts has a variety of scrap steel ranging size, shape, and condition available to patrons of the studio rental program. Material is available for purchase at $.25 per pound. Materials selection and purchase is to be done at a separate time and for a separate fee than the studio rental. Contact metals@libertyartsnc.org with material inquiries.
Renters will have access to welding time within the shared studio warehouse complex. Introductory course or demonstration of skill is required for renting workshop time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Closed-toe shoes are required. Long pants are recommended. No loose-fitting blouses or shirts. No low necklines or shirts shorter than your belly button (risk of burns!) No synthetic leggings or pants tucked into boots. Long hair must be tied back. Do not wear dangling jewelry or scarves.

Bring a water bottle and a snack - there are no vending machines at Liberty Arts. There is a water cooler located near the glass hot shop that is available for all visitors.

Most of Liberty Arts’ studio building does not have HVAC. Dress in layers as it can cold or hot depending on the season!

Depending on your rental time, there may be Liberty Arts member artists or staff persons in the building. A shop tech will also be present for a portion of your rental time.

No. Renters in the Glass Hot Shop can allow their work to come down to temperature using the annealer, but must remove projects in a timely manner. Renters in the Metals Area must remove all projects when not present in the studio.
