Liberty Arts offers classes, workshops and team building activities throughout the year at the Pearl Street Studio and at the Foundry (located in Durham Central Park). Introductory classes are routinely offered in glass blowing, jewelry making, and more. Individual lessons and are also offered by talented teaching artists.

Flameworking: Make Your own Glass Dolphins
In this intro class we will dive into the wonders of flameworking and learn to melt glass with a bench-top torch. This is a perfect class for beginners or anyone who has ever wanted to dip their toes into the world of hot glass.
During this class you will learn the basic fundamentals of flameworking and take home your own glass creation. Your instructor will provide up-close demonstrations, give step by step instructions and provide all equipment and materials. All you need to bring is your creativity!

Nanette Pengelley is a queer, Jamaican-American metalsmith and jeweler from south Florida. She went on to study in Quito, Boston, and Florence. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015 with her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Nanette has been exploring her practice within her brand, Hew Jewelry.
