Evie G. Watts
Evie spent the first part of her working life as a carpenter and contractor, building houses. She then started her own small renovation company and maintenance business. After taking a 25-year break between freshman and sophomore years of college, she graduated from UNC-CH, receiving a BFA with a concentration in ceramic sculpture and a minor in journalism. In the background (usually in her garage) there was always a studio.
In 2012, she became an artist at Liberty Arts where she discovered metal; welding, casting and forging. Her years of construction combined with a love of art and education have come together here in her job as Studio Manager. As far as she’s concerned this is her idea of paradise.
