Nick Verna’s goal when he decided to re-invent his life last year was to make it ‘interesting’. That’s exactly what he’s found at Liberty Arts Sculpture Studio and Foundry, where Nick has just been hired as Executive Director.
“Every artist here is involved in something fascinating, so being in the studio and learning about what they do will make my days endlessly interesting” says Nick. “I couldn’t be happier”.
The addition of Nick as Executive Director is an important step in Liberty Arts’ evolution to become a leader in the areas of sculpture arts, sculpture craft education and industrial arts skills. “We’re tremendously excited to have Nick on our team” said Leigh Hayes, President of Liberty Arts’ Board of Directors. “Nick will definitely give us a big boost towards turning our vision into a reality – of making Durham, NC the most popular sculpture arts destination in the South.”
Nicholas Verna graduated from Appalachian Law School in 2010 into a dismal economy. After working for several non-profits and partnering in an estate planning firm he realized he needed to stop and re-evaluate. Six months of soul-searching later Nick determined to pursue a future in the non-profit sector.
