Liberty Arts Sculpture Studio & Foundry is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition show for resident Sculptor Tripp Jarvis. This will be a rare opportunity in the Triangle to acquire Mr. Jarvis’ artwork, as special pricing will apply for this unique exhibition. Proceeds earned from this exhibition will directly contribute to his planned research into and teaching of the healing impact that sculpture has on the mind’s well being, a subject close to the artist’s heart. The gallery will feature art pieces of medium and large scale for your garden, home or office.
THE ARTIST – Tripp Jarvis, Sculptor. At five years old, he taught himself how to draw by copying the Sunday comics. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, traveled to Eastern Europe to study ceramics and then obtained a Masters degree in Studio Art. Art being one of his most faithful friends, it is without surprise that he expresses best his feelings and spirituality via art, especially sculptures. He finds Sculpture to be the best medium to address his feelings of stress and emptiness mainly because of its very physical and tangible three-dimensional characteristics. He now works in metal and stone. His work aims to restore a certain « kinesthetic » stability in moments of distress, while simultaneously seeking to re-establish in others a similar affirming experience.
QUOTE FROM THE ARTIST - "My sculpture is a continual search for stability, peace and wholeness. I feel that behind all the brokenness and suffering that the we experience lies an indestructible realm of wholeness. The great gift for humanity is that we have the freedom to respond to these voids of strife in any manner we wish. We can view it as some type of bottomless abyss that in the end swallows us whole for all of eternity, or we can see it as a constructive and affirming force that enables us to learn and emerge out of said abyss and into to ever widening realms of peace, joy and wholeness. This choice can never be taken away from us. I tap into this world of wholeness by intuitively completing this space (void) with form. This is the foundation."
Join us at Tripp Jarvis’ exhibition show on Friday, July 15th, 2016, from 6 to 9 PM. The studio/gallery is located at 923 Franklin St, Durham.
